Apply Here: Blue Economy Pathways for Educators

Pascagoula, Mississippi has a little bit of everything when it comes to blue economy jobs. On April 17, GenSea invites 20 educators to get a peek inside coastal career options in the Jackson County seat.

The professional development event will run from 8 am to 5 pm and cover the following sectors/sites:

  • Informal Education: Mississippi Maritime & Shipbuilding Museum

  • Shipbuilding: Bollinger Shipyards*

  • Natural Resource Management: Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve

  • Energy: Chevron

  • Marine Science Research: NOAA Fisheries*

  • Logistics: Port of Pascagoula*

Additional notes:

  • Our target audience is high school teachers, counselors, and career coaches, but we will accept educators from other levels as space allows.

  • Teachers will be awarded $100 and .85 CEUs for attending this program.

*Security protocols at Bollinger, NOAA, and the Port require that teachers accepted into the program provide additional identification information and make it unlikely that non-U.S. citizens (green card holders are okay) will be able to join us at those sites.
